According to Osun Defender, governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers state and his supporters have concluded plans to decamp from People Democratic Party to All Progressive Congress.
A reliable source said such plans were concluded during a meeting with
the governor and his cabinets in Port Harcourt on Monday 23, September,
2013.
The source, who was at the meeting said the Amaechi group also resolved
to fight with the last drop of their blood to ensure that president
Jonathan is not re-elected
The source also said that gov. Amaechi directed that additional 200
persons be registered in each ward in the state to bring the total
number of such feigned SURE-P beneficiaries to 400 per ward.
This, he said the additional 200 persons would be used as their youth
wings so as to resist any forseen opposition as they forge ahead.
The PDP,
reacting to this development through its Rivers state chairman’s
Special Adviser on media, Jerry Needam, said Amaechi’s defect to APC
was a welcomed development and added that his departure will not only
save the state lose of huge sums of money wasted on unnecessary
litigations but also enable the governor to focus on giving the people
of the state the leadership they desire.
